2026 Election Schedule:
Filing for office deadline – June 1, 2026 noon
NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION
To the Residents of Greenwood County, Kansas:
A Primary Election will be held August 4, 2026 per K.S.A. 25-204. Candidates for the following offices will be nominated by each political party, which has qualified to participate in the Primary Election:
One candidate for United State Senator
One candidate for the United States Representative “to be determined” Districts.
One pair of candidates for Governor/ Lieutenant Governor.
One candidate for Secretary of State.
One candidate for Attorney General.
One candidate for State Treasurer.
One candidate for Commissioner of Insurance.
One candidate for Member, State Board of Education “to be determined” District.
One candidate for each Commissioner District 1,2, and 4.
One candidate for each of the following Townships Clerks:
Bachelor, Fall River, Janesville, Lane, Madison, Otter Creek, Pleasant Grove, Quincy, Salem, South Salem, Salt Spring, Shell Rock, Spring Creek, and Twin Grove.
The following officers will be elected in the Republican political party, which has qualified to participate in the Primary Election: One Committeeman and Committeewoman in each precinct.
The deadline for filing County, Township, and Committee offices is NOON on June 1, 2026
The dead line for filing for State Senate, Representative, Board of Education, is to be determined. A publication will follow.
