Virgil

In 1857 six families came by ox team and wagon settled northwest of the present town site of Virgil. In 1869 the town was officially named "Virgil" after a Latin poet. Kansas became a state in 1861 and Frank Osborn, from Virgil, was one of the first county commissioner in1862. If you're looking for wide open spaces with few interruptions, look no farther than Virgil.
