Greenwood County owns two recycling trailers, multiple card board bins and glass containers that can be utilized at any of our three locations. Location schedules can be found below.

Hamilton - Full time
Severy - Thursday 9:00 am all weekend until Tuesday 9:00 am

Household Trash Disposal
The Road and Bridge Department offer four large dumpsters onsite to dispose of any municipal household trash. These dumpsters are available for all county residents:
Monday - Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Fridays from 8:00 to noon.
Dump cost range from $3 to $20 depending on the load size.
Tires can also be brought to the County Shop for a fee.

Permits for lagoon or septic tank construction are given out by the Greenwood County Road & Bridge office. Applications can be picked up at the office or printed off HERE.
Applications must be filled out and a copy returned to the office before a permit number is assigned.
Any hazardous wastes can be brought to the County Shop. Items can be left in front of the cement building next to the Noxious Weed Building. This is no cost to the public.

Greenwood County Road & Bridge Department
Maintenance and construction of county roads and bridges is a high priority for our citizens and county leaders. Statewide, road and bridge expenditures account for about 35 percent of all county-levied property taxes.
Office Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m.- noon
Anyone that notices a 911 sign or any other signs down or damaged, please report this to the office. These signs play an important role in helping our community members and assisting emergency personnel.
Greenwood County offers a functioning landfill for the disposal of Construction and Demolition debris. This landfill is available to all residents and businesses in Greenwood County and open to any contractors with job sites within county lines.
Hours of Operation
Mondays: 8:00 a.m. to noon
Wednesdays: 8:00 a.m. to noon
Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The second Saturday of each month: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

There is a $15 minimum dumping fee, increasing by $15 for every ton after the first ton.
