THE GREENWOOD COUNTY COURTHOUSE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, HOWEVER, OUR OFFICE IS LIMITED TO 3 RESEARCHERS AT A TIME, SO PLEASE CALL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, BEFORE YOU COME TO RESEARCH.
We are able to assist you by phone, email and drop box for business with our office.

There is a drop-box on the west side of the courthouse where documents can be dropped off. We ask that items be placed in a sealed envelope. Please note the time of drop-off on the envelope and call our office to let us know it is there!

Register of Deeds
The Register of Deeds Office is responsible for recording and maintaining all transactions affecting real estate in Greenwood County. This includes but is not limited to; deeds, mortgages, oil and gas leases, and plats. We also file financing statements, tax liens, power of attorney, death certificates and military discharges.
