THE GREENWOOD COUNTY COURTHOUSE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. NO APPOINTMENT IS NEEDED AT THIS TIME.
WE RECOMMEND CALLING AHEAD IF YOU ARE COMING TO RESEARCH AS THERE IS STILL A LIMIT OF 2 RESEARCHERS IN THE OFFICE AT A TIME.
We encourage you to continue utilizing phone, email and drop box for business with our office, when able.

There is a drop-box on the west side of the courthouse where documents can be dropped off. We ask that items be placed in a sealed envelope. Please note the time of drop-off on the envelope and call our office to let us know it is there!

Register of Deeds
The Register of Deeds Office is responsible for recording and maintaining all transactions affecting real estate in Greenwood County. This includes but is not limited to; deeds, mortgages, oil and gas leases, and plats. We also file financing statements, tax liens, power of attorney, death certificates and military discharges.
