Downtown Fall River

Fall River

Fall River got its name which was derived from the falls of the nearby river. The town site was surveyed in 1879, and was incorporated in 1880.  Fall River is a great place to live if you want to be near a State Park. Fall River is a very small community in a great location, it is safe for children to grow up in and is conveniently located just off one of Kansas' major highways.

Fall River Lake located just four miles north of Fall River off highway 400 is full of family fun anywhere from biking to hunting.  You can enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, boating, water skiing, and other outdoor activities permitted in the area.  More then 8,000 acres of public wildlife area next to the park are managed for a variety of game and non-game species such as dove, quail, deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, waterfowl, and prairie chicken.
