![]() Eureka!
It is said that in August of 1857, upon finding a spring of cool, clear water, a pioneer shouted "Eureka" (the Greek word for I found it) and the town of Eureka, Kansas was soon created. Abundant drinking water was a strong factor in their search for a place to settle; therefore, they soon agreed that this was the place they would live and prosper. Eureka has a population of 2,600 and lies close to El Dorado, Emporia and Wichita. Surrounded by Prairie Tallgrass and rolling Flint Hills, Eureka is still the ideal place to live and prosper. Home to small businesses and international manufacturers, Eureka provides a creative, safe environment for families and entrepreneurers. |
