If you don’t know the ins and outs of the US Census, don’t feel alone...most people do not understand how it affects them. Did you know that your Census responses affect grant opportunities for Title 1 school districts such as Eureka? Those grant dollars fund programs like free and reduced lunches, technology in schools, Century 21 learning initiative and much more. Title 1 school districts count on these dollars to provide services to our children that they otherwise could not.
Do you commute several miles each day to work?
Did you know that data collected from the US Census is used to determine state and federal funding for road and bridge projects? Infrastructure is vital to Greenwood County and our communities. With two US highways and two State highways running through our county it is imperative that there is accurate data to evaluate us upon when determining which bridges and roads to fix.
Do you have elderly parents or relatives living in Greenwood County?
Did you know that numerous programs for the elderly are affected by Census data? The amount of funding they receive or do not receive is contingent upon their responses. If you have elderly family members please encourage them to fill out their Census survey.
